My husband and I want to file a divorce together. We don’t want to fight each other. We talked and agreed with everything we want. We are separated almost 2 years. We are good friends because of our 15 years old son. We want to be singles.

Recently I asked how same sex marriages destroyed the institution of marriage and 1 answer pointed out that divorce is more damaging to the validity of marriage than same sex marriage. Do you agree that divorces are easy to get and that marriage does not mean a union for life. That then invalidates the oath you take to your partner and God.

Some one advised me - it is 90 days from the divorce but some other informed 1 year from the divorce, I am really confused. Please tell me if there is any clause for 1 year waiting. I will heartly appreciate if the answer is as per indian rules and law, I am by religion hindu. Thanks to all in advance.

How long after I and my soon to be ex-wife file the chapter 7 bankruptcy can i finalize my divorce from her? We both agree to the bankruptcy and the divorce, so can we get the divorce done before the Bankruptcy is 100% finalized?

i know someone who is getting a divorce, and doesnt love her ex anymore, but they are planning on living with each other as roommates for right now after the divorce for the sake of the kids, so as not to traumatize them. has anyone else ever done it or is doing it now, and what were your experiences like? she is seeing someone already.

One of the 2 requirements to apply for citinzenship is have 3 years with a Green Card and remain married with an US citizen. I fall in that category, by my quesiton is after applying for Citizenship…starting the divorce paperwork…That won’t affect my application with inmigration?
I checked USCIS already is nothing there…

What’s the cheapest way to get a divorce in Las Vegas? My friend has been married to her husband for almost five years and they live in Las Vegas, it wasn’t some drunken mistake. Annulment isn’t an option at this point. They’re both cheating on each other and completely miserable with each other, but they keep using money as an excuse not to get the divorce. Assuming they can be adults about it and not try to screw each other over, is there a way they can do it without bankrupting themselves?

As a part of a women’s rights project for history, I have to find evidence on whether or not divorce and laws regarding custodial rights of children are fair to women. I do not know much about divorce laws, but i do know that most of the time the children go to the women. Can you give me some resources to help me decide whether these laws are fair to women?
