I am in a very shaky marriage right now. We have talked about filing for divorce at the beginning of next year. In recent weeks however things have taken a turn. We are talking about trying one more time.
Here is the fun part! Last week I received a letter from my landlord that he is not going to renew our lease. Financially I am at a good position to buy a house. However I don’t want to buy a house if my wife is going to end up divorcing me and take it. I also don’t want to sign another 1 or 2 year leases to rent.
So I have to make a decision fast on what to do.
One option is getting a postnuptial contract that would indicate if we devoice the house stays in my possession. The trick would be getting her to sign it.
Another option is to create an LLC Corporation, then buy the house using the LLC Corporation. I don’t think I can have this done in the current time frame.
Well there is my situation, anybody have any suggestions on what I can do?

I have court next week and it’s just like a 6-month follow-up on our family case.The father of my two little girls has not complied with anything what was established in mediation. Random-drug testing before visitations, N.A meetings, Individual therapy. He has even missed quite a few visitations, or at time has not even showed-up at all nad when he does show it his mother doing all the taking care of his responsibilities. Please some advices would be greatly appreciated.

My husband and I want to file a divorce together. We don’t want to fight each other. We talked and agreed with everything we want. We are separated almost 2 years. We are good friends because of our 15 years old son. We want to be singles.

The family court system very seldom looks at evidence once a person has been forced into the system. It automatically considers you guilty. You are not permitted an attorney unless you can pay, you are ordered to take drug and mental testing. Why isn’t this also imposed on those who make the accusations?
Sorry. Did I forget to mention that the child isn’t mine, or that the test were ordered and the mother passed drug testing. Can you say grandparent control issue?

Recently I asked how same sex marriages destroyed the institution of marriage and 1 answer pointed out that divorce is more damaging to the validity of marriage than same sex marriage. Do you agree that divorces are easy to get and that marriage does not mean a union for life. That then invalidates the oath you take to your partner and God.

Me and my ex took a home paternity test and it came out as me not being the father. And now she is going crazy so I wanted to know in West virginia Can The family court judge make you take a paternity test again or appear in court even if U didnt sign the birth certificate. I really neeed help on this one.

Some one advised me - it is 90 days from the divorce but some other informed 1 year from the divorce, I am really confused. Please tell me if there is any clause for 1 year waiting. I will heartly appreciate if the answer is as per indian rules and law, I am by religion hindu. Thanks to all in advance.

What does a family court lawyer do? Is there an article online that tells about it? What is the average salary range? What types of people would you generally deal with? How often would you have case, and what kinds of cases? Thanks. And would you get to argue in court?

How long after I and my soon to be ex-wife file the chapter 7 bankruptcy can i finalize my divorce from her? We both agree to the bankruptcy and the divorce, so can we get the divorce done before the Bankruptcy is 100% finalized?

I’m asking this question for a co-worker. Ex-spouse keeps filing for frivolous hearings in family court every 4 to 6 months. The ex-spouse has money to pay attorney, my co-worker can’t afford an attorney, so they just show up in court. Why does the judge and court system put up with frivolous complaints about nitpicky details?
